INTRODUCTION

I choose to be a teacher because it is my ambition and teaching is one of my passions. For me, being a teacher is different and I want to be different.

Teachers are very important because they are the pillar of society, role models to the children, offer guidance and dedication. They also give young people the potential for education. Because of teachers, countries can further develop socially and economically. So I am very inspired by all my teachers to be like them, to share my knowledge with the children and to teach them new things, and to help discover their passions. Based on my experience in teaching, I felt how happy I was sharing my knowledge with them. It was really interesting and fun together with the children.

As a future educator, I prepared myself for the future to fulfill my goals, kept what I've learned from my school and my field study, and continued exploring new things. All these things I believe God has more planned for me.

I present this portfolio for you to read about my educational philosophy and experiences during this semester.

—Matthew 10:32 NLT

To GOD almighty, who created me, I would like to praise and thank how great He is. I acknowledge all He has done for me. He gives me opportunities, knowledge, and continues making plans for good to me. I am successful in doing all my work in school because of his guidance and wisdom.

To my Partner in life, for being kind. I am thankful for his endless love and support throughout my life. I thank him for giving me the strength to reach the dreams that I wanted. When I wasn't able to do my projects and assignments, he was always there to help me.

To all my teachers, for sharing their knowledge, they served as an instrument and I have learned a lot from them. I am thankful for their kindness and encouragement and for being our second parents in school. I am very blessed by them because they are the ones who inspired me to be strong and teach me right from wrong.

I am grateful to my Classmates and Friends, especially in the Social Science Department, for their kind hearts. I treasure the most enjoyable memories with them. They supported me during my difficult moments.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
AS A BEGINNING TEACHER

I believe that every student is having a unique gift. As a Social Science educator, I will value and help every student to improve their strengths, interests, skills, abilities, and knowledge to extend their learning. I believe that students need to learn as much as they need clothing, shelter, and food. As a teacher, I must motivate them to experience repeated learning success. I will give opportunities for students to explore, discover, create, and imagine. I will treat every student as active participants in the learning process, providing their skills such as how to study, take notes, memorize,  and express themselves effectively. These skills will help them to be part of a high-performance learning program.

I believe that they have cultural diversity. I will benefit from diversity with each of them and enable them to understand and acknowledge differences. I know that they are very conscious of themselves and sensitive to the world where they live. So, therefore, as a teacher, I should be responsible for the student's actions.

The purpose of education is to teach students how to live a life with education, wisdom, and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise. I believe that these are the keys for students to develop a good character. Not only teaching about values, social, physical, and mental but also in the spiritual. I think it is important to teach them about biblical words in that way, they will know everything and understand the truth that God is the source of all things. Teach them to have fear with him because he is the foundation of true knowledge, wisdom, and discipline.

A teacher is also responsible to remind students to respect and always listen to their parents when they correct them from wrong and do not neglect the instructions. Pay attention and learn good judgments. Because they have the right to discipline their children.

Social Science in education, particularly, has the potential to make students grow up as active, responsible, and reflective members of society. My goal is for students can understand everything from the school, their homes, environment, and can understand the interrelationships of the natural worlds. In this way, student's understanding will be broadened, and they will be responsible for themselves in the future. They can make wise decisions if they will be applied what they have learned.
